Natural Gas Sales Contracts

Natural Gas Law Attorney

When drafting a natural gas lease or a contract for the sale of natural gas, our goal is to obtain the maximum price possible for our client. As an attorney with 40 years in the oil and gas business, Ralph E. Williamson has seen how property owners and mineral rights holders can be defrauded out of gas revenue to which they are entitled. If you believe that you have not been receiving the correct natural gas royalties, contact an attorney who understands the gas business. Call our San Antonio law firm, the Law Offices of Ralph E. Williamson, to schedule a free initial consultation.

Do not let ignorance keep you from receiving the correct royalty payment. Contact an attorney who knows the natural gas business.

The pricing and selling of natural gas is complex. Gas is measured by volume. It is common for operators and buyers of natural gas to include clauses in purchase or sales contracts that allow lessors and property owners to lose five percent of their gas volume, and thus five percent of their revenue, depending on how the natural gas is measured and priced. They assume that the seller or property owner does not know how to read a gas sales contract. Because this is sometimes true, landowners and other owners of mineral rights should consult with an attorney before signing a natural gas sales contract. When you speak with our attorney, you will be talking with a lawyer who has many years of experience as a seller and buyer of oil and gas leases, mineral rights, and royalty rights.

Natural gas is transmitted by additional gas that pressurizes the line. A sales contract should indicate what kind of allowance is given to the property owner for this extra gas. The contract also needs to be specific about when and how the gas is measured, and whether the measurement is wet or dry. The sales contract should include language about line losses from leaks and should indicate clearly at what point in the transmission process the natural gas will be measured.

Our attorney, Ralph E. Williamson, knows the considerations that need to appear in a natural gas sales contract. His knowledge of natural gas law, as well as his many years in the business, put our firm in a position of strength when helping property owners and sellers of natural gas. Contact our San Antonio law firm, the Law Offices of Ralph E. Williamson.
